Air Compressor Dryer

We offer a range of industrial compressor When purchasing an industrial air compressor, several crucial parameters should be taken into account to ensure optimal performance. First and foremost, consider the horsepower and kilowatt (kW) ratings of the compressor, as these dictate its power output and suitability for industrial tasks. Among the various types, scroll, reciprocating, and rotary screw compressors are popular due to their reliability and efficiency. Their sleek designs enhance safety and ease of handling, making them convenient for users. Additionally, these compressors are known for delivering superior performance, making them powerful enough for both commercial and industrial applications. Energy efficiency is another significant factor, as these units consume less power while maintaining efficacy. Furthermore, their maintenance is straightforward and cost-effective, which is an essential consideration for any business looking to minimize operational costs while maximizing productivity.

Refrigerant dryers

Refrigerant dryers are the most common type of drier technology used by many industries. As the name suggests, heat exchangers are used to cool compressed air which will condense the bulk amount of water vapour within the air. Once the compressed air is cooled and water is removed, the air is reheated to around room temperature to ensure no more vapour forms within the pipe system. In the above image from left to right you can see the air compressor, air tank (to store the compressed air), the refrigerant air dryer and the condensate management on the far right to collect the water and oil removed from the compressed air.

Our refrigerant dryers are manufactured in-house at our plant, Italy where they use the latest cutting edge technology to produce maximum energy efficiency in the drying process, in other words to use as little energy as possible to complete the air drying process.

High efficiency air treatment

The cycling dryer is designed to deliver the lowest cost solution by focusing on all of the cost contributors. In a typical compressed air dryer, the refrigerant compressor runs continuously regardless of demand. With a cycling dryer, circulating glycol cools the compressed air allowing the refrigerant compressor to turn-off during low demands, to save energy and cost

Desiccant dryers

Desiccant dryers work on the principle of moisture always migrating to the driest medium possible. Therefore, water vapour is removed from compressed air by passing it over an adsorbent desiccant material. In the above shown CompAir air treatment product family image, the desiccant dryer is shown in the centre by the twin towers & these types of air dryers can cater for larger airflow volumes. The full range of desiccant dryers is shown below.

As the air contacts the adsorbent material, water vapour transfers from the wet air to the dry desiccant, however, adsorbent materials have a fixed adsorption capacity and once this capacity is reached, they must be regenerated or replaced.

Therefore, to provide a continuous supply of clean, dry compressed air, adsorbent dryers utilise two chambers of desiccant material and at any one time, whilst one chamber is on-line, drying the incoming compressed air, the other is either off-line, being regenerated or is re-pressurised, ready to come on-line

advantages:

  • Robust and reliable industry-proven design

  • Suitable for all industries and applications - some desiccant dryer regeneration methods prevent their use in certain industries/applications

  • Lower capital investment and reduced complexity compared to other dryer regeneration methods

  • Lower maintenance costs in comparison to other dryer regeneration methods

  • No heat, heaters, or heat-related issues
